Project Overview

Located on the outskirts of the Yanco township, the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will enable more efficient use of renewable resources and support the transition to cleaner energy. The Yanco BESS will store electricity during low demand periods and feed it back into the grid at times of high demand, enhancing grid stability, and securing affordable and reliable energy to NSW.

The project is strategically located near existing energy infrastructure in Leeton. Its proximity to the local substation helps to reduce costs for the consumer and minimise environmental impacts.

Working with the community

Our approach aims to mitigate any project impacts and maximise opportunities for local communities. We are consulting early to facilitate discussions with near neighbours, residents and key stakeholders identify and address potential impacts and opportunities.

We are committed to building a positive legacy, together with the local community. To deliver lasting social and economic benefits, we have signed a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) with Leeton Shire Council, which will deliver significant community investments in the region over the project’s life.

We will also keep the community informed of project progress and impacts. Our team is available to answer any questions and welcomes your feedback.
